Benchmarks/Goals For 2010
Name of Congregation/Charge/Ministry:   New Faith Hmong  Ministry
 IN ORDER TO MAKE DISCIPLES FOR JESUS CHRIST, THESE ARE SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE BENCHMARKS AND PLANS FOR MINISTRY:1. Radical Hospitality-evangelism and outreach. 2. Passionate Worship-worship, spiritual growth. 3. Intentional Faith Development-education and care. 4. Extravagant Generosity-Stewardship. 
 

2010 BENCHMARK #1: Radical Hospitality/Evangelism & Outreach

 Target Performance for 1st benchmark:                                                            Our target performance for 2010 is continuing to make New Faith Hmong known to the community in a prayerful and hopeful that a minimum of 10 people will join with New Faith Hmong.

Plan for achieving the first Benchmark:

1.        We will continue to compile a prospects list and continue to follow them up.

2.        We will continue to make 5 new contacts per week.

3.        We will continue to make at least 2 invitations per Sunday.

4.        We will continue to visit at least 1 prospects per week.

5.        We will continue to hold 2 or more evangelistic events per year.  May 14th and December 25, and/or December 31, 2010.

 

These goals will be evaluated  around June and December of 2010.

  2010 BENCHMARK #2: Worship and Spiritual Growth Target Performance for 2nd benchmark:We will increase our worship attendance to 30 by the end of 2010. Plan To Achieve the Second Benchmark:

  1. We will continue to hold a contemporary worship.
  2. We will continue to incorporate a children service with the Worship Service.
  3. We will continue to hold home Bible Study classes.
  4. We will hold a once a week prayer meeting for the growth of New Faith Hmong.
  5. We will encourage members to participate in Camping for spiritual renewal.

By when: The end June and December of 2010.

 2010 BENCHMARK #3: Discipleship & Care Target Performance for 3rd benchmark:  In term of Discipleship & Care, there is no major change in this benchmark.  In 2010, we will continue to follow  the same 2009 benchmark.

 2010 BENCHMARK #4 Stewardship Target Performance for 3rd benchmark:Our target in giving for 2010 is $8000.00! Plans For Achieving The Third Benchmark:

  1. We will continue to train members to use envelop for a better record keeping.
  2. We will provide year round envelopes for members and encourage consistence giving.
  3. We will Continue to hold a Stewardship Seminar on June 2010. 
  4. We are planning to launch a Stewardship Campaign drive on November 2009 and ask each family to make a pledge.
  5. We will Continue to preach on the topic of Stewardship three times throughout the year (Third Sunday of January; Last Sunday of May and Thanksgiving Sunday).
 By when:  Evaluation will take place in June and in December of 2010

  The Evaluation at the end of the year will be done by the Hmong Support Committee with the help of Pastor Nhia Wahn Her.

 

BENCHMARKS/GOALS FOR 2009 

•  First Benchmark: (Radical Hospitality/Evangelism & Outreach):Target Performance for 1st benchmark:                                                       

     Our target performance for 2009 is to make up our lost of 18 and gain 2 more for a total of 20 new members.
 The measurable Benchmark for Evangelism and Outreach is to add 20 new members into our membership roll.  This coming 2009, we will continue to put our effort in the area of Evangelism and Outreach to make up for our lost.

Plan for achieving the first Benchmark:
    
1.        We will compile a referral list and commit to a consistence follow up method with those that has higher 
            potential.
    
2.        We will continue to make at least 2 invitations per Sunday.
    
3.        We will continue to make 3 telephone calls to new prospects per week.
    
4.        We will continue to visit at least 2 prospects per week.
    
5.        We will continue to hold 2 or more evangelistic events per year.  One in May ___, December 25, and
            December 31, 2009.
    
6.        We will hold the fourth Sunday Service up in the Fellowship Hall with a contemporary worship for 
            outreaching purpose.
    
7.        Beginning January 2009, We will advertise our Ministry in the Local Valpak Savings Coupon, in the Regional
           Hmong News Papers or Magazines and both Hmong Public Radio in Green Bay and Wisconsin Hmong
           Radio in Appleton.

    
 These goals will be evaluated  around June and December of 2009. 

Second Benchmark (worship, spiritual growth):Target Performance for 2nd benchmark:

    
We will hold every Sunday a Contemporary Worship and increase our worship attendance to 30 by the end of 2009. 

Plan To Achieve the Second Benchmark:
     1.      We will schedule Friday evening 7:00pm to 8:00pm for songs practice and Worship rehearsal.
     2. 
We are holding a contemporary worship (drum, guitar base and chord with the worship team to lead)
     3. 
We plan to have a children service within the Adult Sunday Worship Service.
     4. 
We will encourage the youth to participate in Worship as well

      By when: The end June and December of 2009.

Third Benchmark (education & care):Target Performance for 3rd benchmark: 

    
Education or Discipleship is the foundation for spiritual growth within a congregation.  We will begin with small group Bible Study at home in addition to Sunday School at church.  So that the members in this congregation will grow in the knowledge of Scripture. Plan To Achieve the Third Benchmark: 

     1.  Holding a Thursday Morning 9:00am to 10:00am Bible Study for those members who work in the second
         shift.
     2. 
Holding a Thursday evening 7:00pm to 8:00pm Bible Study for those members who work in the first shift.
     3. 
Moving the 4-6 years old from the nursery class into a different class and find a curriculum and a teacher to
          teach them.
     4. 
During Winter Sunday School, continue to teach the following topics:
         a.        Hymns.  b.      The Confirmation Into The Body of Christ.  c.       Basic Christian Doctrines  

     Evaluation will take place in June and December

Fourth Benchmark (mission & ministry):Target Performance for 4th benchmark:

     Beside the local ministry here, New Faith Hmong is also involved with many other missions and ministries:
 

Plan To Achieve The Fourth Benchmark: 
    
1.     We are actively involved with the Association of Hmong United Methodist Churches (AHUMC).  Through
           the AHUMC, we have connection with the Asian American Language Ministry and are partnering with
          General Board of Global Ministry to support mission projects in Laos.  We plan to raise $400 to support the
          Christmas Evangelism in December 2009.  For further details of the vision, mission and plans of the AHUMC,

2.     We are actively involved with the Wisconsin Hmong Caucus which enable us to assist our Wisconsin Annual
          Conference in issues that relate to language difficulty, culture sensitivity and Hmong pastoral search. 
         
Wisconsin Hmong Caucus is also assisted and supported and unified our United Methodist Hmong
          Churches in Wisconsin.
    
3.     We are also actively involved with the committees in our Annual Conference such as serving as member with
           the Ethnic Local Church Concern Committee and the Commission on Religion and Race.
 

     By when: We will evaluate these missions and ministry in June and December of  2009

Fifth Benchmark (stewardship):Target Performance for 5th benchmark:

    
Our target in giving for 2009 is $500.00 per month. 

Plans For Achieving The Fifth Benchmark: 
       1.   Beginning to training the members to use envelop for a better record keeping.
     2. 
For the first half of the year a Stewardship Method will be adopted, translate into 
         Hmong.
     3. 
Holding a Stewardship Seminar Session for the members on Saturday of June 27,
         2009. 
     4. 
Having a Stewardship Campaign drive on November 2009.
     5. 
The topic of Stewardship will be continued to teach to all the members to the end of the
          year.

 By when:  Evaluation will take place in June and in December of 2009 

What persons or groups will complete the self-evaluation of these goals and
   plans
throughout the year in which funding is being requested?
    
The Hmong Support Committee which currently consists of members from three
   other United Methodist Churches and meet monthly to evaluate the plans and
   support the ministry.
  

    
The Evaluation at the end of the year will be done by the  Hmong Support Committee
